Ashley and Evan’s wedding at Hopcott Farms in Pitt Meadows, BC was the perfect combination of elegant, fun, relaxed and completely personal.
From the gorgeous touches of purple and lavender to Ashley’s amazing dress change later in the evening, this wedding was filled with beautiful details and unforgettable moments. What made this day especially meaningful for me, though, was the relationship I had built with Ashley, Evan and their family long before the wedding day.
By the time I arrived at Hopcott Farms, it honestly felt like I was showing up to celebrate with friends.
Why Engagement Sessions Are So Important
Let's be honest: not every couple feels the same way about wedding photography.
Sometimes one person is excited about having photos taken while the other is a little more shy or simply doesn't love being in front of the camera. That is completely normal! Couples often have different ideas about what is important on a wedding day, and photography isn't always at the top of both people's lists.
This is where I come in—and why I believe engagement sessions are so important.
An engagement session gives us time to slow down, have fun and get comfortable with each other before the chaos of the wedding day. We can talk, laugh and figure out what the photography experience will actually feel like.
That is exactly what happened with Ashley and Evan.
Their engagement session gave us time to connect and build trust, making the wedding day that much easier. By the time their wedding arrived, everyone knew what to expect, and the photography felt relaxed, natural and fun.
My goal is always to capture all the important memories while making sure my couples actually get to enjoy their wedding day!
From Clients to Feeling Like Friends
Ashley and I communicated quite a bit before the wedding, and I really enjoyed getting to know her. She also became one of my number-one social media supporters and is always showing love on my posts—which I absolutely appreciate!
Before the wedding, I also had the opportunity to photograph Ashley’s daughter’s prom. It was such a big milestone and gave me another chance to get to know their family even better.
By the wedding day, it truly felt like I was walking into a celebration surrounded by friends.
An Elegant Farm Wedding at Hopcott Farms
Hopcott Farms provided the perfect setting for Ashley and Evan’s wedding. It may be a farm wedding venue, but they definitely brought the elegance!
The decor, flowers and beautiful outfits created such a stunning atmosphere while still keeping that relaxed and welcoming feeling of a farm wedding.
And can we talk about the colours?
I love purple weddings!
Purple is probably one of my favourite wedding colours because it feels so classic and pretty. The hints of lavender throughout the day added the perfect romantic touch and looked absolutely beautiful against the Hopcott Farms setting.
The Fun Details of the Day
The girls were a blast, the guys brought the fun, and the entire day had such great energy.
One of my absolute favourite moments was Ashley’s dress change later in the evening. OMG—it was so fun! She was able to put her hair up, change her look and get ready to party for the rest of the night.
And I have to mention the dessert table!
Hands down, it was one of the most beautiful dessert tables I have ever seen. It was created by Sugar Rush Krissy, and every detail was absolutely incredible.
An Amazing Wedding Vendor Team
Ashley and Evan had an incredible team helping bring their wedding day together:
G&G Music — Terry was amazing!

Bridal Makeup, Bridesmaids Hair & Makeup: Prep n' Set Brandi
Catering: Top Notch
Decor & Flowers: One Stop Party Rentals — Tanya
Bartenders: Pour It Up — Candace and Leanne

Congratulations, Ashley & Evan!
Ashley and Evan, thank you so much for trusting me to capture so many special moments for your family—from your engagement session and your daughter’s prom to your beautiful wedding day at Hopcott Farms.
That is one of the things I love most about being a wedding photographer. We start out getting to know each other, we build trust, and by the wedding day, everything feels comfortable and natural.
Your wedding was beautiful, elegant, fun and filled with so much love.
Congratulations to you both! ❤️ I wish you nothing but happiness as you continue your future together.
Thank you for letting me be part of your story.
