Jessica and Ashton’s engagement session at Pitt Lake Dyke was the perfect combination of stunning scenery, genuine connection, and beautiful light. Located just outside Vancouver in Pitt Meadows, Pitt Lake is one of my favourite locations for engagement photography thanks to its incredible mountain views, open landscapes, and breathtaking sunsets.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear these two were excited to celebrate this season of their lives together. Engagement sessions are about so much more than creating beautiful photographs. They are an opportunity for couples to slow down, spend time together, and create memories before the excitement of their wedding day arrives.
One of my favourite parts of Jessica and Ashton’s session was their decision to bring two outfits. I always encourage couples to consider an outfit change during their engagement session because it adds so much variety to their final gallery. Their first look was elegant and timeless, perfectly complementing the dramatic mountain backdrop. For their second outfit, they opted for a more relaxed and casual style, allowing us to capture a completely different feel while staying in the same beautiful location.
The variety created by two outfits helps couples receive a gallery that feels both polished and authentic. It allows for a mix of romantic portraits, playful moments, and images that truly reflect who they are as a couple.
As the evening wore on, the light grew softer, and the mountains surrounding Pitt Lake created the most incredible backdrop. The natural beauty of this location never disappoints. Whether you're planning an engagement session, anniversary session, or couples photography session, Pitt Lake offers some of the most scenic views in the Lower Mainland.
What made this session truly special, however, wasn't the location. It was the connection between Jessica and Ashton. They were relaxed, comfortable with one another, and fully present throughout the evening. Those authentic interactions are always what create the most meaningful photographs.
I'm incredibly excited to continue documenting their story when they tie the knot at the Rose Garden in New Westminster. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding day is going to be filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
If you're recently engaged and searching for a Vancouver engagement photographer, Fraser Valley engagement photographer, or Pitt Lake engagement session location, I would love to help you create photographs that feel natural, genuine, and uniquely you.
I can't wait to share more from Jessica and Ashton’s upcoming wedding celebration at the beautiful Rose Garden in New Westminster.
