Elopements will always hold a special place in my heart. There’s something incredibly special about the quiet, intimate moments shared between two people who are deeply in love. As a wedding and elopement photographer, capturing those raw, genuine emotions is what I love most about my work.
Behnia and Stephen’s forest elopement in Pacific Spirit Park was the perfect example — from their emotional first look to their heartfelt vows among the trees, every part of their day was filled with love and magic. It’s moments like these that make elopement photography so meaningful.
Getting Ready at the Hyatt Regency: A Quiet Start to a Beautiful Day
The day began at the elegant Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Vancouver, where Behnia and Stephen got ready for their special day. Once Behnia’s makeup was complete and both were nearly dressed, they slipped away to finish getting ready separately — saving that magical first look for later. The quiet anticipation of seeing each other for the first time made everything feel even more meaningful.
Their hotel room was a dream to shoot in, with gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows letting in the most beautiful natural light. It created the perfect setting for soft, romantic portraits. The light, the space, the energy — everything felt like it was falling perfectly into place.
Making an Entrance: A Sleek Rolls-Royce Ride to the Ceremony
After their sweet first look, we headed downstairs to check out the couple’s ride to the ceremony — and it did not disappoint. Behnia and Stephen had a sleek turquoise and black Rolls-Royce waiting for them, and it was an absolute showstopper. The bold colour and modern design gave the whole day such a cool, stylish vibe. Even with a small crowd gathered around admiring it, I was able to capture a few amazing shots before we made our way to the ceremony at Pacific Spirit Park.
Pacific Spirit Park: A Place to Remember
Behnia and Stephen chose Pacific Spirit Park for their ceremony, and the reason behind it truly moved me. As we walked through the forest trails on the way to their ceremony spot, Behnia shared that she used to walk her two beloved dogs there — it was one of their favourite places to explore together. Both of her fur babies have since passed, but the park still holds a deep sense of comfort and connection for her. When she told me that this was her way of honouring them on such a meaningful day, I teared up.
The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. Surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery, the forest created a peaceful, almost magical backdrop for their ceremony. With only their two closest friends by their side, Behnia and Stephen exchanged vows in the quiet heart of the woods. It was incredibly intimate — no distractions, no noise, just the two of them and their love. Elopements like this always remind me why I love what I do.
Portraits in the Woods: Capturing the Magic of Pacific Spirit Park
After the ceremony, we wandered the forest to capture portraits — and honestly, Pacific Spirit Park was pure magic. The way the light filtered through the tall trees created this dreamy, golden glow that wrapped around Behnia and Stephen so perfectly. Every corner of this area felt like a hidden gem, with soft paths, textured greenery, and the kind of stillness that makes you feel completely present.
Photographing them here felt effortless — the love between them, the beauty of the surroundings, and that perfect natural light all came together in the most magical way. It was one of those moments where everything just clicks, and I felt so lucky to be the one documenting it.
